Tsunami Benefits
Say Hey!
The local (tri-state) Blues community has come together in a major way. Benefits to help tsunami victims have taken place in NY, NJ and Conn. with even more scheduled.
We had the pleasure of performing at the Wicky Lounge in Suffern, NY with several other fine bands. This took place on Jan. 23rd, the day after our big snow storm. Even tho' the weather could have been friendlier there was a respectable turnout with all the musicians involved showing up and playing their stuff.
Individually I had the pleasure of doing a country Blues duet thang with Son Lewis on Feb. 13th. This took place in Montclair, NJ at a club called "Just Jake's". Although Son and I hadn't worked together previously, I'd like to think we did a pretty good job. As I am usually "amplified" this was a great experience for me...much "rootsier" and indeed good fun!
Each of these benefits raised over $1K and if I'm not mistaken the money is going to Unicef.
Thanks to all the fine musicians who donated their time and talent, and thanks to all of our friends at Wicky and Jake's. Most especially, thanks to all who came out and supported these important events!
Peace,
CC
